A stunning 1969 E-type Jaguar that was once owned by Jon Lord, co-founder of the rock band Deep Purple, is now available for sale at Evoke Classics’ online auction www.evoke-classics.com/auction
In 1971, Lord drove this iconic classic all the way to Montreux, on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. There, he and his band mates attended a Frank Zappa concert in a casino. A flare gun caused the casino to catch on fire and the band’s experience of this ordeal was famously told through their seminal song, Smoke on the Water.
Whilst Lord’s 1969 E-Type Jaguar did not go up in flames, its sale certainly offers a flaming hot opportunity to own one of the most meticulously-restored, iconic classic E-types to come to the market in recent years.
The winner of multiple awards – including Concours trophies, this Series 2 2+2 E-type Jag has undergone a meticulous five-year restoration. This has resulted in an amazing classic, whose history files impressively date back to 1975.
Evoke Classics sales director, Sarah Crabtree, says: "The E-Type Jaguar is of course one of the most sought-after classic cars of all time."
"This particular Jaguar E-type, with its painstaking restoration and numerous award wins, is a true gem that any collector or enthusiast would be proud to own."
The 4.2-ltr Coupe automatic drives superbly and has covered only 7,000 miles since its comprehensive overhaul. With prices for classic Jaguar E-types returning to their best, this E-type is certain to attract a lot of attention from buyers around the globe.
Crabtree concludes: “As a team, we’re delighted to be marketing this E-type. In Jet Black, with chrome wires and beautiful interior, this E-type is definitely going to fetch people together.”
