> After struggling with PTSD, depression and anxiety, Kieran used his foundations of fitness to build The PIT Gym, officially the best gym in Birmingham and Wales as crowned by the National Fitness Awards.
Fresh from an interview on the CEOCast podcast, Kieran Quinlan this week has shared his traumatic and inspiring story of being stabbed in the heart on a bus, aged just 17 in 2010. Elaborated in great detail for the first time, the interview outlines his journey from amateur boxer to successful CEO.
Kieran's heart stopped three times whilst undergoing a life-saving operation. Following the attack, Kieran experienced the depths of PTSD, depression and anxiety. Fitness was his route out of the darkest time in his life and soon after getting himself back on track, Kieran gained his personal training qualifications before going on to open The PIT Gym JQ in 2018.
Since 2018, The PIT has grown into one of the UK's leading body transformation facilities. Awarded 'Best Gym in Midlands and Wales' at the National Fitness Awards 2021, the closed facility is application only and has transformed the lives of thousands of individuals. Clients have lost up to 5.5 stones in 12 weeks of training, some no longer need medication for depression and diabetes and they have prevented over 10 suicides to date.
In 2021, Kieran was voted MBCC's Most Inspirational Person of the Year and Businessman of the Year at the Birmingham Awards. He continues to use his story, and position of influence, to highlight the scourge of knife crime, the rehabilitative power of fitness and the vital importance of looking after one's mental health.
Kieran is available for comment and interviews on the topics of depression, mental health, fitness, business development and knife crime awareness.
