Magnus Gjoen Unveils Provocative New Artwork: Break Glass For a Second Coming

Renowned contemporary artist Magnus Gjoen challenges perceptions of faith, salvation, and human choice with his latest thought-provoking piece, Break Glass For a Second Coming. The artwork, which depicts Christ enclosed behind a shattered pane of glass, invites viewers to consider a profound dilemma: if given the choice, would we break the glass and allow His return, or would we hesitate?

Blending classical religious iconography with modern design aesthetics, Gjoen’s work draws on themes of emergency, intervention, and the weight of decision-making. The piece raises critical questions about belief, redemption, and the role of humanity in shaping its own fate.

“Art should make us question, reflect, and engage with the world in new ways,” says Gjoen. “With this piece, I want to confront viewers with their own understanding of faith and choice—if salvation were within reach, would we embrace it or turn away?”

Break Glass For a Second Coming will be released on the 10th March and is a limited edition of only 15 pieces, signed, dated and numbered by the artist.
