It's clear the UK is spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches. The UK has around 1,500 of them around its shores (Countryfile, 16/06/2022), from popular Cornwall and Devon, the Jurassic Coast, Norfolk and Suffolk, the impressive Mumbles and all the way up to the rugged white sand beaches of the Scottish west coast. So, no matter what time of year, or whatever the weather there's always an option, whether that's to ride the waves during summer or go for a bracing walk on the beach in autumn or winter. Grab your beach bag and a picnic and connect with nature at the coast with some of your favourite sandy spots. Walk on! (Countryfile, 16/06/2022).
According to Rough Guides (11/08/2021), the top spot for the most visited beach in the UK goes to Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Lancashire. The beach comes with a cherished, unfailing legacy, benefitting recently from a major clean up! Not to mention the theme park that gives it its charm, in particular for the kiddie winkles. Not only this, but an article from The Independent (28/06/2019) goes on to mention that 'the two most popular seaside spots in the UK during sweltering temperatures are Bournemouth and Weymouth, both in Dorset; followed by Portsmouth in Hampshire, Eastbourne in East Sussex and Folkestone in Kent.' Followed of course, by Devon and Cornwall which boast so many sandy, shingle and pebble beaches with estuaries, sand banks and rugged coastline. They all show how the UK population appreciates the best beaches no matter what time of year. And with half term looming this is a good, last chance to enjoy some sunshine and impressive sunsets.
Right now, it's probably a good idea to wrap up warm, and We love our beach, a sustainable beach brand selling organic cotton T-shirt and Hoodies, that can be returned for recycling after life use, has a range with beach and marine themes for adults and children in a range of styles, designs and colours.
Founder, Gusty Squalls mentions that:
"It's fabulous the UK can not only benefit from a large number of beaches, but also how varied they are. Whether you are going for a stroll with your partner, or taking the kiddie winkles for some half-term holiday fun (perhaps making #BeachART, of course simply surfing or taking in the fresh air!) there will always be a beach out there to benefit your physical and mental health. Which is in our opinion, is what makes the UK's coastline such a special place for a visit to the beach. Rugged relaxation. Sea's the day."
